At around 9:15 p.m. EDT, DEEP Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police responded to a boat crash in Old Saybrook, 30 miles east of New Haven, Connecticut, Will Healey, director of communications for the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection, told USA TODAY in an email. Six of the nine onboard were rescued and taken to the hospital, and one person is in critical condition, said Healey.
